Origin Protocol said April 25 that it raised $28.5 billion in funding from FBG, BlockAsset and Silicon Valley investors. Origin, of San Francisco, is a blockchain startup that is aiming to build an infrastructure for a decentralized sharing economy.
Milk Stork has raised $900,000 in seed financing led by Clif White Road Investments. The Urban Innovation Fund and angel investors participated in the round. Milk Stork is a breast milk shipping company.
SEMrush said April 24 that raised $40 million in funding led by Greycroft, Siguler Guff, and e.ventures. SEMrush provides competitive intelligence and an analytics platform for digital marketing professionals.
MadDog Ventures said April 23 that its first venture capital fund raised $26.7 million, exceeding its $25 million target. MadDog, of Birmingham, Michigan, invests in companies that are developing and marketing cloud-based business applications.
EryDel has raised 26 million euros ($31.7 million) in financing led by Sofinnova Partners. Existing shareholders Genextra SpA and Innogest SGR also participated to the investment. EryDel, of Milan, is developing a drug delivery device for the treatment of rare neurodegenerative diseases.
Leanplum said April 24 that it increased its Series D funding to $52 million with an add-on investment from Waterwood Group. Leanplum, of San Francisco, provides a mobile marketing platform.
Après said April 23 that it raised $1.1 million in seed funding led by Rocana Venture Partners. Après of San Francisco provides a plant-based protein beverage developed for whole-body replenishment.
Contessa Health said April 19 that it raised additional financing. Terms were not disclosed. Health Velocity Capital led the round while BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners, Noro-Moseley Partners, and Sandbox Advantage Fund participated. Contessa, of Nashville, provides a health informatics platform for home recovery care.
1Huddle Inc said April 18 that it raised $3 million in a Series A round led by NRD Capital Management LLC. Newark Venture Partners also invested. 1Huddle, of Newark, New Jersey, is an enterprise software platform that provides learning and training programs in the form of quick-burst mobile games.
RealSelf Inc said April 19 that it raised $40 million in a funding round led by Elephant. Other investors were not disclosed. Andy Hunt, Elephant co-founder, who also co-founded Warby Parker in 2010, will join the RealSelf board. RealSelf, of Seattle, is an online marketplace for people to learn and share experiences about elective cosmetic procedures.
