Treasury Intelligence Solutions GmbH, or TIS, said Nov. 9 that it raised $12 million in additional financing from 83North. 83North joins previous TIS investors Target Partners and Zobito. TIS, of Walldorf, Germany, provides a cloud platform for managing corporate payments and cash flows.
Clearlake Capital Group LP has led a $65 million round for MetricStream Inc. Also participating were EDBI, a new investor, along with existing investors including Goldman Sachs, Sageview Capital, and others. MetricStream, of Palo Alto, California, provides governance, risk and compliance applications.
IVP and Old Mutual Global Investors led a $280 million round for TransferWise. Sapphire Ventures, a new investor, participated in the round, while existing investors Richard Branson, Andreessen Horowitz and Baillie Gifford all reinvested. TransferWise, of London, is a money transfer company.
TransferWise has raised $280 million (£211.2 million) in funding from investors Old Mutual Global Investors and IVP, Business Insider reported. TransferWise, of London, enables individuals and businesses to send money overseas more cheaply using a peer-to-peer transfer system. Buyouts in August reported that TransferWise was fundraising, seeking $50 million to $100 million.
BioGeneration Ventures said Oct. 31 that it closed its third fund with 82 million euros ($95.3 million) in funding, exceeding its 50 million euro ($58.1 million) target. New investors include Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC Inc, as well as Schroder Adveq, and the MAN Pension Trust. BGV III will focus on seed investments in European biotechnology companies.
Ada Health said Oct. 31 that it raised 40 million euros ($47 million) in a funding round led by Access Industries. Also investing were the June Fund, Cumberland VC and William Tunstall-Pedoe, the AI entrepreneur behind Amazon Alexa. Ada Health, with offices in Berlin and London, is a health technology company.
Klook said Oct. 24 that it raised $60 million in Series C funding led by Sequoia China. Also participating in the round were Goldman Sachs, existing investor Matrix Partners, and various Asia-based family funds through global VC fund, OurCrowd. Klook, of Hong Kong, is a travel startup that provides an in-destination services booking platform.
iAdvize said Oct. 24 that it raised 32 million euros ($37.6 million) in Series C funding. Investors include Idinvest Partners, Bpifrance via Large Venture, and Quadrille Capital. iAdvize, of London, provides a conversational marketing platform that helps businesses engage with their customers.
Prescient said Oct. 17 that Sunil Ghatnekar was named CFO. Ghatnekar is a longtime executive with The Coca-Cola Co.
