Unitus Seed Fund has raised $8 million in commitments for its seed-stage venture fund focused on startups serving low-income consumers in India. Founding investors include Mike Murray, co-founder Unitus Labs; Vinod Khosla; 500 Startups, and Bob Gay.

Riordan, Lewis & Haden Equity Partners has backed Siteworx, a provider of strategy, design, and implementation services for web content management software. Terms were not released. Siteworx is based in Reston, Virginia.

Edison Pharmaceuticals has closed a $20 million Series F round, the company announced. Mitsui & Co. Global Investment Inc. led the financing. The money will go toward clinical development of the company’s products.

Online document transfer startup TitalFile has raised $1.1 million from investors including Nova Scotia-based early-stage investor Innovacorp and the First Angel Network.

Jack & Jake’s, a “sustainable food provider” based in Louisiana, has closed on $225,000 in financing. The University of Michigan’s Social Venture Fund was among its investors.
